Lesson 14
The idea of counseling is to enable the individual to address their needs in life in an appropriate and constructive manner. A sound personality should be found in every capable minister, the goal must be for the bettering of ones Christian faith. This would include addressing their feelings and behaviors in a proper manner; as well as solving their spiritual needs.
A minister, without some specialized training in psychology, can only address the individual's spiritual aspects. Other problems of the individual client should be left to the professional behavioral analyst, mental health counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist.
