1. The Western church was not renewed spiritually but by power in the state. It became more independent than the Eastern Church this showed both churches going in their own separate ways along with the fortification of papal power .

The things that made the great schism of 1054 inevitable was the condemnation of the western church by Michael Cerularius who condemned the western church for using unleavened bread in the eucharist despite the excommunication of each church by each other a reconciliation was almost brought fourth in 1965 it never materialised but brought the churches closer together.

Although the schism broke the church into the east did not benefit from the renaissance of the west and the events that followed despite this the east had its own mission and objectives and numerous eastern rulers or /and their family members became Christians one could argue back and fourth would these events occurred and helped if the church stayed together .
